FXCM.COM is pleased to announce Fractional Pip Pricing to their clients.(Press Release)
Forex Capital Markets LLC, one of the largest Forex Dealer Members, offers “Fractional Pip Pricing” in an effort to reduce the bid-ask spreads it offers to their clients. Their aim is to provide customers with very competitive transaction costs—tight bid/ask spreads on the most poular currency pairs.
Instead of quoting full pips, FXCM will now quote prices in tenths of pips. The digit representing a tenth of a pip appears to the right of the two large bold face digits.
“The Benefit is clear,” Drew Niv CEO of the forex broker stated, “Fractional pip pricing should reduce bid/ask spreads on all the more popular currency pairs.”
With the additional decimal place, you will see a more accurate—and usually tighter—spread. For instance, you might see a buy price of 1.32557 instead of 1.3256 and a sell price of 1.32532 instead of 1.3253. In this case, you would have a spread of 2.5 pips instead of 3.
