NFA has received notice that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission has approved NFA Compliance Rules 2-41 and 2-42. The new rules will become effective on November 30, 2008.

NFA Forex Dealer Members must meet higher net capital requirements

Many of the U.S. firms currently offering retail off-exchange foreign currency (forex) trading are Members of NFA. Effective December 21, 2007, these firms must maintain a minimum net capital requirement of $5 million.

NFA announces effective date for increased minimum net capital requirements for Forex Dealer Members

Beginning on December 21, 2007, NFA Forex Dealer Members (FDMs) will be required to maintain a minimum net capital requirement of $5 million. The increase also raises to $10 million the amount of capital required for a security deposit exemption under NFA Financial Requirements Section 12(b).
